I ran my own gallery, shop and design studio. Five times a year, we would create a new window display in the space and here are some of the favored ones. These installations were all made out of things we found in the shop, mostly scraps and trash turned into something new and expressive. The visual texture in each of them transformed the aesthetic throughout the shop and helped create a space that was indicative of our abilities and character.
Let's Build a Canoe
I am not a professional photographer; I do however take inspiration pictures. The following is a collection of different images that inspired me. I have an affinity for plants, animals and nature, in contrast to man-made textures and details. I have a strong visual sensitivity and pay attention to details around me, which I try to bring into my design thinking and art work.
The Process of a Painting
Maminlapinatapei (approx. 28x36)
This painting started out as something that had to do with robots and neighbors, the painting morphed into something completely different. As I worked with the colors, textures and lighting, the idea became much more descriptive and visceral, highlighting the emotion of relationships between people.
